“If we teach today’s students as we taught yesterday’s, we are robbing them of tomorrow.” – John Dewey
In this ever changing and evolving world, it is important to adapt and enhance the methods of learning. With the change in attention span, technological developments and increasing interest & need of personal growth, the one-fits-all approach in learning does not work. The solution that has been proven successful is…..
BLENDED LEARNING
Blended learning, also referred to as hybrid learning, is an integration of the traditional instructor-led classroom learning (face-to-face) and independent, self-paced online learning (e-learning).
It offers the possibility of combining the various learning methods like face-to-face training, webinars, activities/game-based learning, simulations, coaching, etc.
70:20:10 model. How blended learning works?
The 70:20:10 model for Learning & Development suggests that individuals obtain 70% of their knowledge from on-the-job experience (experiential or action learning) , 20% from social learning/ interacting with others (coaching, mentoring) & 10% from formal education (courses or training etc.).
How we apply blended learning in our programs?
At Human Development Solutions DMCC, we customize classroom training to the training needs of our clients. The classroom trainings are engaging and experiential in nature and are followed by a digital post program engagement for trainees to apply their learning in the workplace to reinforce the learning and develop desirable habits.
How does this help the trainees and the organization?
This integrated learning method allows participants to have an engaging human interaction followed by a digital intervention that reinforces learning over a period of time. The digital intervention uses a combination of images, videos, quiz, practical tasks, surveys, etc and caters to the different learning styles of individuals. Blended learning also gives trainees the flexibility to complete these tasks at their own pace, to refer to what they have learnt and increases engagement. It allows the organization to track trainee activity & progress and contributes in understanding the Return on Investment (ROI).
Blended learning has played a vital role with the ever-changing dynamics of the way we work, learn and engage and continues to do so.
